CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man was arrested for stealing the Charlotte Knights baseball mascot costume from BB&T Ballpark after the beer festival this weekend.
Police said Joseph Gillespie broke into an office at BB&T Ballpark and took the Homer The Dragon costume.
He then fled the scene wearing the costume, police said.
Officers said Gillespie was arrested at his Indian Trail home. Police recovered the costume at his home.
Gillespie was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of marijuana.
The costume is worth $6,000.
