CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Emergency crews airlifted a man to the hospital following a head-on crash early Thursday morning in Newton.
Officials told Channel 9 that the man was thrown from his SUV after it overturned in the crash on Startown Road.
Startown Road was shut down for more than an hour after troopers said an SUV crossed the centerline and struck another car.
The SUV flipped several times and the driver was thrown from the vehicle. He was seriously hurt and officials told Channel 9 that tow other people were also taken tot he hospital.
