Massive tree splits home in half, narrowly missing 4-year-old boy

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A four-year-old boy watched a massive tree crash through his Cleveland County home Thursday as what was leftover from Hurricane Zeta blew through the Carolinas.

High winds toppled trees and created power outages across the area and some residents were left to cleanup.

“It’s scary,” parent Suzan Ford said.

The tree split her Mooresboro home in half.

“I heard a big boom and the wind,” her son Dackson Ford said.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

In the video at the top of this webpage, hear more from the mother and son who are still shook up about the incident.
