Crews fight fire at public pool in Matthews

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Pleasant Plains Road in Matthews reopened Monday after it was closed due to a fire at Brightmoor Pool.

The Matthews Police Department posted on X at 11:42 a.m. that crews were trying to get the fire under control at the public swimming pool.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom was over it and saw that the fire was out but the structure was heavily damaged.

No additional details have been made available.
