CHARLOTTE — A detention officer with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office has been fired, according to the sheriff’s office.
On May 16, Robert Hall turned himself in on assault-on-a-female charges connected to an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred the day before. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the incident and obtained an arrest warrant for Hall, according to deputies.
Deputies said Hall was then terminated.
“We expect our employees to adhere to the high standards we’ve set at MCSO, as we seek to be a positive example for our community,” Sheriff McFadden said. “As a public safety organization, MCSO requires all employees to demonstrate professional and ethical conduct both on and off-duty and we will continue to hold staff accountable for their actions.”
Hall has worked for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office since July 2022.
