WEDDINGTON, N.C. — The Weddington Town Council is planning a special meeting Tuesday to discuss the future of the town's only fire station.
Weddington votes to change fire service
The council is considering closing the Providence Volunteer Fire Department to save more than $200,000 a year.
The council would turn over service to Wesley Chapel but neighbors have said it puts them at risk, and would raise their homeowners insurance.
