MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Mooresville middle school student was taken to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after being shocked by a power line that was down due to storms that recently blew through the area.

The student was walking after school on private property next to Mooresville Intermediate School when the incident happened, officials said.
The student was conscious when they were taken to the hospital, authorities told Channel 9.
No other information has been released.
