MONROE, N.C. — Monroe police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon.
Monroe police said Wednesday they arrested Gregory Paul Knight in connection with the bank robbery at First Citizens Bank.
Monroe police said they were looking for a white man in his 40s with a tan jacket and baseball cap who robbed the First Citizens Bank on Highway 74 around 4 p.m.
Police said Knight handed a note to a bank teller demanding money, but he did not show a weapon.
Knight is being held in the Union County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
