MORGANTON, N.C. — A man is accused of kidnapping a woman in Morganton.
Court documents say Terry Hawkins poured water on a woman and then used a leaf blower on the victim.
He’s also accused of using a mattress against a door to keep her from leaving.
Court documents say he “held her for hours, slapping her awake if she fell asleep.”
Early Saturday morning, Morganton Public Safety officers responded to the area of 306 Center Street in reference to an investigation involving a woman reportedly in distress.
Officers were advised that a caller had reported seeing a naked woman in the area.
When officers arrived, they located the woman on the property and observed visible injuries consistent with having been physically assaulted.
The victim reported she had been held against her will and physically assaulted.
Hawkins was arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping and domestic violence.
He’s being held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
