BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Omar Christian Regino Vera, 35, of Morganton, was sentenced to three to five years in prison after being convicted of two counts of taking indecent liberties with children.
The offenses occurred in April 2016 and involved a pair of minor female children, ages 8 and 11 at the time.
Vera pleaded guilty Monday in Burke County Superior Court.
He will be required to register as a sex offender for a period of 30 years and will be deported upon his release from prison.
