CHESTERFIELD, SC — One person has died after a serious five-car crash in Chesterfield County earlier this week, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Channel 9 Skyzoom flew over the crash on South Carolina Highway 9 after it occurred on Tuesday.
Troopers say at around 11 a.m. on July 26 a box truck struck a vehicle which then hit the car of the person who later died. The crash happened on Highway 9 near Hills Creek Road.
The victim died three days later on July 29. The collision remains under investigation, troopers said.
All lanes were initially blocked on Highway 9 near Hills Creek Road while authorities investigated the scene.
Four cars and a truck could be seen crashed when Chopper 9 flew over the scene last Tuesday. Several police cars and first responders were also at the scene.
