NASCAR star Kurt Busch drops in on Marines at Camp Lejeune

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Marines at Camp Lejeune got a special visit Tuesday from NASCAR driver Kurt Busch.

As part of the visit, Busch took part in a virtual reality parachute drop, simulating how it feels to jump from 13,000 feet.

He drew parallels of the experience to his own life.

“When you're prepared, you can execute the job properly,” Busch said. “And so in racing, there are so many similarities to the military life and the way that you eat, sleep and breathe it all the time.”

Busch said that while he's been out skydiving before, it's a whole other experience when you're doing it in a military capacity.
