CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. — Carteret County sheriff's deputies have arrested a couple who they said were involved in a violent road rage incident that was caught on tape.
Deputies were called to the scene on Highway 70 and English Street in Newport Sunday around 1 p.m. after a report of shots being fired following the road rage incident.
Deputies said Bradley Turner, 40, and Christy Turner, 30, both of Institute Road in La Grange, have been charged for the attack after turning themselves in.
The road rage incident was caught on camera from inside one of the vehicles. The video shows Bradley Turner getting out an SUV and confronting the driver of a truck.
The video shows Turner throw a punch at the driver of the truck, which started a fight between the two and another man who was in the truck.
Christy Turner appears in the video after Bradley Turner gets thrown to the ground. The video shows Christy Turner then handing a gun to Bradley Turner, and he approaches the truck. He then walks back to his vehicle and then the video ends.
The video clip does not show Turner shooting into the truck, but deputies said he fired several rounds into the truck. Bullets hit a nearby home, deputies said.
The people in the truck had already left the vehicle and were not injured, WCTI12.com reported.
Bradley Turner was charged with discharging a weapon into property, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, going armed to the terror of the people, injury to personal property, and assault.
Christy Turner was charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun. The suspects had since bonded out of jail.
Deputies said a toddler was also in the SUV with the couple during the incident, but was not injured.
