CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Douglas International Airport has opened up a new cellphone lot to assist drivers with parking who are awaiting arriving passengers.
Much larger than the airport’s original cellphone lot offering 56 spaces, the new temporary lot offers 120 spaces and can be found on Rental Car Road, just below the current cellphone lot, and adjacent to the Budget Rent-A-Car Return Center.
Signs are in place directing drivers to the temporary cellphone lot and parking staff is assisting in directing traffic.
The lot is intended to ease congestion on the airport’s access roadway and in the primary cellphone lot. The airport’s original cellphone lot remains open on Rental Car Road.
