NORWOOD, N.C. — Authorities in Stanly County arrested and charged Nehemiah Leak and James Dillard in connection to a bank robbery Wednesday.
Officials told Channel 9 that around 9:15 a.m. someone entered the Uwharrie Bank on Main Street in Norwood.
It was unclear if the suspect made off with any money.
Norwood Elementary, South Stanly Middle and South Stanly High School were briefly placed on a low-level lockdown from 9:30 a.m. till 10:10 a.m. due to police activity in the area.
Authorities believe the men also robbed another Uwharrie Bank in Oakboro three weeks ago.
