CONCORD, N.C. — Officials said a person was hit and killed by a train in Concord Thursday afternoon.
The Concord Police Department said it was responding to the scene of the accident near Corban Avenue around 4:30 p.m.

Cabarrus County emergency personnel confirmed the person who was hit by the train died.
Amtrak said about 50 people were on board the train traveling from Charlotte to Raleigh when the accident happened. None of the passengers were hurt.
No other details have been released.
