Officials: LYNX train, car collide in South End

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A LYNX train and car collided Saturday afternoon at the East/ West light-rail station in South End, authorities said.

The car tried to slip past the crossing gate when the southbound train struck it, a transit official aid.

The driver of the car made a wrong turn, according to her son.

She was not seriously hurt, her son said.
