CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a special-use permit for Old Dominion Freight Line’s project at The Grounds at Concord.
The action is the latest win for ODFL and its proposed investment at the former Philip Morris site.
ODFL sought the permit to allow a 53,429-square-foot, 102-door trucking terminal at a 39.3-acre site on New Town Way SW, according to commission records.
The permit approval came after Concord’s city council approved an incentives grant last month for the ODFL project at The Grounds. City documents state that ODFL sought incentives to invest $18 million and create 100 jobs at the site.
