CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers announced on Tuesday that the team waived wide receiver Jimmy Horn Jr.
The Panthers drafted Horn Jr. in the sixth round last year, and the 24-year-old athlete was among the standouts in training camp.
Horn Jr. had a rough outing in the season opener, with a muffed punt in the loss to the Chicago Bears.
The Panthers signed linebacker Tyrel Dodson from the practice squad to the active roster.
Horn Jr. was a sixth-round selection (208 overall) by Carolina in the 2025 NFL Draft and appeared in 15 games for the Panthers, totaling 177 scrimmage yards (108 receiving, 69 rushing) and 118 return yards (101 kickoff, 17 punt).
