CHARLOTTE — Don’t forget your passport; Thursday marks the beginning of the busy Spring Break travel season.
Whether you’re heading to the beach or the mountains, you can expect longer wait times and limited parking. Airport officials can expect to see an extra 170,000 travelers in addition to the 53,000 the airport sees daily starting Thursday and carrying on through Sunday.
Channel 9′s Gina Esposito spoke with the travelers at Charlotte Douglas Airport, who are not only navigating the crowds but airport construction as well.
“We didn’t get daily parking, so they said it was just for reservations. That was the only thing. Before we came here, we came for daily parking, but not anymore. It was only for reservations,” one traveler told Esposito.
