GASTONIA, N.C. — A woman was killed while trying to cross a Gastonia street Friday morning, police say.
It happened around 7 a.m.
Gaston Avenue was blocked at Airline Avenue Monday morning after the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

Officials say the victim was in her mid-50s. She was transported to CaroMont with potentially life-threatening injuries where she later died.
Traffic officers are investigating the incident.
Channel 9 is asking for more information about the crash and if the driver will face any charges.
