CHARLOTTE — Emmy Squared Pizza is targeting an early September opening for its first Charlotte restaurant.
The Brooklyn, New York-based brand is known for its signature square-shaped, crispy-bottomed Detroit-style pizza, along with burgers, sandwiches, salads and appetizers.
The 4,800-square-foot establishment is located at 1508 Central Ave. — previously occupied by retail stores.
“Even though Emmy Squared is a growing restaurant group with multiple locations, we are, in our core, a neighborhood restaurant. The original restaurant is a mainstay of its neighborhood back in Brooklyn, and we specifically chose Plaza Midwood because it has that same neighborhood feel,” says Emily Hyland, partner and co-founder of the brand.
