Police make arrest in north Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have made an arrest in a north Charlotte shooting that killed one man and seriously injured another.

Around 11:45 p.m. Thursday, someone shot two men on Fontana Avenue, police said.

One man was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The other man is in critical condition at Presbyterian Hospital.

Police said homicide detectives worked through the early morning hours and developed information that led to the arrest of a suspect. The suspect’s name hasn’t been released.
