Police investigate how 88-year-old fell to death out of second-story window

GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia Police are investigating how an 88-year-old woman fell to her death out of a second -story window at her assisted living facility.

Employees found Nellie Holland outside Morningside Assisted Living Sunday night.

Investigators said Hollan had dementia and was not adjusting to the facility after moving there two days ago,

Investigators are calling the fall an accident.
