• Shooting victim's brother charged with having weapon of mass destruction

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police are still searching for the person who shot and killed a teenager in south Charlotte.

    Police said someone shot into a vehicle Wednesday night in a parking lot on Sharon Lakes Road.

    Jose Ibarra, 17, and his brother, Steve, were inside.

    Jose was hit. His brother drove him to the hospital, where he died.

    Steve Ibarra was arrested hours later.

    His charges include having a weapon of mass destruction, police said.

    Channel 9 is working to learn more about those charges and will have those details coming up at 10 and 11 p.m.
