PINEVILLE, N.C. — The Pineville Police Department is investigating after someone drove a U-Haul truck into a hotel Thursday.
Officers said they believe the driver intentionally drove the U-Haul into the front office area of the Suburban Lodge.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identity has not been released at this point.
In security video, officials said the U-Haul could be seen crashing into a parked vehicle first, backing up and then allegedly drove toward two people, before crashing into the building.
Police said the vehicle is still inside the building because officials have not said the structure is safe yet.
Authorities said criminal charges have not been filed against the driver at this point.
No other details have been released.
