CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are searching for at least one gunman who shot two people outside a busy north Charlotte restaurant. Police say two victims were shot in the Bojangle's parking lot on North Tryon Street. Somehow they ended up nearly a mile away at Pinkney and Leigh avenues.
A witness told Channel 9 she saw a man lying on the ground covered in blood but then he got in a van and left.
"It's just scary," Alisa Guy said. "I've never seen anything like this. I've been over here for 14 years."
Police couldn't say if one of the victims drove.
"I had heard a wreck," Guy said. "I thought it was a wreck. It was three 'boom boom booms'. And we rode down there and it was actually a car full of blood."
She went to try to help the victim, but says he didn't want help and didn't even want someone to call 911.
"And he said he just wanted to go home," Guy said.
Then he left as quickly as he came in a nearby van.
"That person jumped in that van," Guy said, adding he was still bleeding.
Police found a trail of blood at the crime scene and used a dog to try to track down both victims and shooters. Both victims ended up at a hospital, but the shooter or shooters still have not been caught.
