Police make arrest in fatal southwest Charlotte shooting

Police are investigating after they found a man dead in a car in an Applebee's parking lot near South Tryon and Whitehall Park Drive.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have charged a man with murder after a 21-year-old was found dead in a car in southwest Charlotte.

Jonathan Henderson, 24, was arrested Thursday and charged with armed robbery and murder in the shooting of William Lee Tunson, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

Tunson was found dead Wednesday in a car in a parking lot near South Tryon and Whitehall Park Drive. Police said Tunson and Henderson knew each other.
