CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder that happened seven years ago.
Police arrested Darryl McPhaul Tuesday morning and charged him with murder.
The arrest came after a CMPD Cold Case Unit looked over DNA evidence from a murder inside the Continental Inn on Sugar Creek Road in 2005, police said.
The victim, Troy Kidwell, was found strangled in his room, according to investigators.
