• Police: Man killed in Gaston Co., body dumped in Charlotte

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Police are still trying to find out why a man was targeted and left dead on the side of a Charlotte road.

    Police arrested Avery Lail and Delia "Joyce" Rick Friday in connection with the homicide.

    Officials said they killed Brian Jones in March.

    Lail is charged with first-degree murder and Rick is charged with accessory after the fact.

    Police found Jones' body on Old Dowd Road near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
     
    Investigators say he was stabbed in Gaston County, then dumped in Charlotte.

    Lail is being held at the Gaston County jail without bond and Rick has a $100,000 bond.
