Police: 'Overweight flasher' arrested after mall incident

PINEVILLE, N.C. — Police have arrested a man they said flashing himself to a mall employee at Carolina Place Mall.

Police said Michael Greenberg, 43, was arrested Thursday by Pineville police.

Tracy Bailey was floored when her 18-year-old daughter told her what happened at the Hollister store at Carolina Place Mall on May 7.

"I was shaking all over, I was crying," Bailey said.

Her daughter, who has worked there for two years, texted to tell her a man had exposed himself to her inside the store around noon Tuesday.

Bailey said he asked her for sexual favors first.

"He said he had to tell her a secret, and that's when he offered her money for her to do things for him.  When she told him no, that's when he got close to her and exposed himself to her," Bailey said.

Bailey said her daughter immediately went to tell her manager, who called 911.  She said she had seen the man in the store many times before, usually shopping with his mother.  This time, he was alone.

Greenber was described as a white man in his 30s, "extremely overweight," with a pony tail, goatee and wearing a black shirt, jeans and a camouflage hat.

Greenberg has been charged with indecent exposure.
