CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted kidnapping of a child in Steele Creek, police said.
Police said on Tuesday that they took Hector Martinez, 21, into custody.

Officers first announced they were searching for a suspect after the incident Tuesday morning.
They said the man, who was last seen in the Kingsford Drive area off of Nations Ford Road, had been identified but was still on the loose.
Police said charges against Martinez are pending.
