BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A portion of Highway 18 north of Morganton is closed due to flooding along the Johns River.
Chesterfield Fire told Channel 9’s Dave Faherty that NC-18 U.S. 64 is closed just below Chesterfield Fire Rescue due to flooding.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation has put up barricades to close the road until the river drops.
Residents and drivers are being asked to not drive around the barricades.
