TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — Investigators believe they have found the body of a Taylorsville man who was reported missing in April.
A town employee was clearing the area behind an old hospital on N.C. 16 in Taylorsville on Monday when he spotted a pair of boots. Police said he went over to investigate and discovered a set of skeletal remains.
Officers determined the remains were likely those of Kevin McDonagh, 62.
McDonagh, who suffered from dementia, disappeared after walking away from A New Outlook assisted living center.
The remains have been sent to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to determine the cause of death.
