BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Tristan Coffey, 20, is locked up at the Burke County Detention Center Tuesday night, accused of exposing himself to women.
Johnny Cuthbertson and his wife were working at a car wash in Drexel when they said Coffey asked about getting a soda. Seconds later, he exposed himself to Cuthbertson’s 75-year-old wife.

“She went to hollering for me, and I went running over there and by the time I got there, he was pulling out of the bay,” Cuthbertson said. “He didn’t even look when he went out on the highway.”
During the last two months, Coffey has been charged four times with indecent exposure in Caldwell and Burke counties. He also is accused of trying to run a woman off the road with his vehicle, which led police to charge him with assault with a deadly weapon.
Some want Coffey to serve jail time and get help.
“If he’d do it to a 75-year old woman, he’d do it to a teenager, but I must say my wife (doesn’t) look 75,” Cuthbertson said.
Coffey is being held under a $12,000 bond.
