CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. — Firefighters said strong winds helped fuel the fire.
Officials said no one was inside when the fire started.
The fire also damaged two nearby businesses.
The owner of Britt's Donuts was closing up the business for the season, noticed the smoke and called 911.
"It really flared up. It got so bad that I had to go back down the alleyway. I couldn’t even hardly breathe, and it just escalated from there," said owner Bobby Nivens.
Firefighters are still trying to figure out what caused the fire, but they say it doesn't look suspicious.
