SALISBURY, N.C. — Livingstone College in Salisbury was placed on lockdown Tuesday night while police searched for a man they said robbed a Goodwill store and then fired shots at officers.
Investigators said it happened after 6 p.m. when the suspect walked into the Goodwill on West Jake Alexander Boulevard and stole cash.

Police responded and were searching for the man, later identified as 29-year-old Eldmond Boley, along Maple Avenue and Wilson Road when they found him and confronted him.
Officers ran after Boley and that’s when he fired a gun at them, police said.
No officers were injured and police said they did not fire back.
Boley then tried to take a vehicle near Salisbury High School, but failed and then ran off.
Police were searching Tuesday night for Boley and had told people living nearby to shelter in place. Livingstone College was also placed on lockdown.
Boley is still on the run and warrants have been taken out on him for assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
He is considered armed and dangerous and police said if you see him, call 911 immediately.
