Rock Hill residents killed in Michigan motorcycle crash

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Two Rock Hill residents were killed in a motorcycle crash on August 5 in Houghton County, Michigan.

Kimberley Wooldridge, 36, and Raymond Miller, 65, died after a vehicle crossed into their lane on US 41 near Golf Course Road.

Investigators said the crash occurred when Sze Wenn Tiang drove into oncoming traffic to avoid a stopped truck, striking Wooldridge and Miller. Tiang has been charged with a moving violation and driving without a license.

Kimberly Wooldridge and Raymond Miller were best friends who traveled to Michigan together earlier this month.

Friends and family remembered Miller as a hardworking man who enjoyed gardening and motorcycles. Wooldridge’s sister described her as dependable, loving, smart, and a woman of faith.

Neighbors in Rock Hill remembered Wooldridge for her dedication to helping those around her. Ronnie Macater, a next-door neighbor, said Wooldridge regularly assisted elderly community members.

“She was, she was, she’s one of the sweetest persons around here,” Macater said. “You know, most of the people around here are elderly people. And she took and fed some of these guys, me, and that man right there lives in that house.”

Macater said Wooldridge made a lasting impact on her neighborhood.

“She took care of the elderly people. She had a heart of gold. She took care of the people in the neighborhood,” Macater elaborated.

A celebration of life for Kimberly Wooldridge is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at All Nations Church in Fort Mill. The service is open to the public.
