Police said the student held onto his backpack instead of putting it in his locker. When asked about it, the student replied he was going to shoot up the school.
Police said the student admitted to making the threat but said it was a joke.
The student hasn’t been identified because of his age. The Herald reported the boy was charged as a juvenile and will appear in family court after being removed from school.
