ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — The Rowan County School Board has decided against a plan that would have shut down six elementary schools throughout the county Thursday.
Channel 9 has been following this story for several weeks.
An outside consultant recommended shutting down the schools to save money but the board voted against shutting down all six schools.
A new school will still replace Cleveland Elementary and Woodleaf Elementary schools.
