Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are helping families who were hit hard by flooding in Caldwell County last week.

The disaster relief organization has been working to clear trees knocked over by flash flooding near Collettsville.

A week ago, a microburst dumped nearly five inches of rain west of Lenoir in just one hour.

Many of those trees ended up in creeks which could cause more serious flooding if heavy rain returns.
