CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash Monday morning.
One person was killed and two people were injured in the crash around 8 a.m. on Highway 151 near Jefferson, South Carolina.
Officials said a North Carolina family was returning from the beach when they lost control of their car in Chesterfield County near Jefferson.
The SUV rolled several times and landed upside down, officials said.
The woman killed in the crash was identified as Aiyana Nicole Boyd, 21, of Charlotte, the Chesterfield coroner said.
The two people injured were identified as Danielle Rankine of High Point and Jessica Brimmer of Charlotte.
The driver may have fallen asleep, officials said.
