CHARLOTTE — School nurses will play a vital role when students return to learning at school -- but what about while the children are at home?
Nurses want families to know they aren’t alone this year. They will still be working with students even though they’ll be remote this fall -- and students with medical needs will be a big focus.

“Even though the school building is closed, we are still available,” a nurse told Channel 9.
For the 20% to 25% of CMS students with medical needs, many relied on school nurses throughout the year to receive medicine or treatment. But with everything being remote this fall, parents and schools are pivoting to meet their needs.
