Part of North Tryon Street temporarily closed to address flooding issues

CHARLOTTE — A section of North Tryon Street at East 16th Street will be closed starting on Thursday to address flooding issues that Channel 9 has covered repeatedly.

It was originally set to be closed starting Sept. 20 but was delayed a few days due to weather.

Crews are building a storm water culvert near the Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge approaching North Tryon Street to help ease the drainage issues that have plagued the area.
