Police: Restaurant employee shot, killed trying to break up fight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A restaurant employee was shot and killed after trying to break up a fight early Tuesday morning, police said.

Police were called to the El Paisano Restaurant on Albemarle Road around 2 a.m. and found Richard Snyder, 50, in the front parking lot. He died at the scene, police said.

Snyder was trying to ensure that several men who were causing a disturbance were leaving the restaurant when someone pulled out a gun and fired, police said.

Police are looking for a small, green two-door truck, possibly a Chevy, in connection with the case. It was last seen fleeing outbound on Albemarle Road.
