Man found shot after car crashes into Lancaster home

LANCASTER, S.C. — A man was shot in the parking lot of a Lancaster apartment complex Saturday night, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found Carlos Antonio Massey, 29, with gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a car that had crashed into an apartment building on Douglas Road.

Lancaster County EMS took Massey to Springs Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Massey’s apartment is located on Lynwood Drive, which is near the apartments on Douglas Road, officials said. They compiled evidence from both locations.

Crews towed the Honda Accord Massey was found in to the Sheriff's Office for processing.

Deputies have not taken anyone into custody at this time.

"I am certain there are witnesses who know what happened to Mr. Massey," Sheriff Barry Faile said.  "I encourage anyone who knows what happened or hears talk on the street about what happened to contact the sheriff's office."
