‘So that he will not be forgotten’: Local trail dedicated to UNCC shooting victim

MIDLAND, N.C. — More than a year after the shooting at UNC Charlotte claimed the lives of two people and injured several others, a local trail was dedicated to one of the victims.

Reed Parlier was a sophomore when he was killed during the tragedy on campus.

Town and county leaders from Midland, Parlier’s hometown, dedicated a trail at Robin Wallace Park Friday to permanently celebrate his life.

“So that he will not be forgotten by the people of Midland,” Mayor John Crump said.

The trail holds special meaning for Parlier’s family.
