COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina teachers are expecting to get a pay raise next school year.
The amount is still up for debate, according to the State newspaper in Columbia.
A Senate budget proposal would give teachers a 1 percent raise. Earlier this month, the House approved a 2 percent raise.
The increase comes amid a teacher shortage for many districts in the state.
