CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Spectrum Center and the Hyatt House Hotel were evacuated after a natural gas line was hit in uptown Charlotte Monday morning.
Charlotte Fire said a natural gas line was hit by a construction crew on East Trade Street.
Authorities said a 4-inch gas line was cut and an evacuation was needed in the incident.
The Spectrum Center and the Hyatt House hotel were evacuated, but were allowed back into their buildings shortly after the leak was controlled.
No injuries were reported.
Officials said 16 firefighters controlled the incident in 90 minutes.
