Stanly Co. employee embezzles more than $100,000

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A Stanly County Senior Services Center employee is accused of embezzling more than $100,000, officials said.

Amanda Hurley has been charged with one count of embezzlement by a public officer or trustee.

Authorities said the incident happened between June 2009 and March 2012.

She was released on a $50,000 bond and is due in court July 29.
